We deliver to most countries around the world. We make use of highly professional couriers to handle transport, duties, taxes and any logistic challenges. While delivery to South African addresses is a straightforward deal, when you are ordering from outside South Africa, we will be happy to provide you with a customised quotation.
For main centres in South Africa, delivery times are estimated at 3-4 working days from the date of dispatch (ie, from receipt of payment). For outlying areas, we deliver in 5-7 working days from the date of dispatch. These delivery times are not guaranteed, due to the deliveries being handled by our partner shipping companies.
We have a strict policy of only dispatching orders once we have received proof of payment. We will only accept an official bank generated PDF proof of payment. If you are not able to provide proof of payment, the wines will only be dispatched once the full payment has reflected in our bank account.
We monitor the shipping progress of all orders as they go out from our store, to make sure you receive your wines, and to make sure our shipping partners are providing the best possible service! However, if you are concerned about a delivery, please drop us an email, we will tackle the matter immediately and give you all the answers.
We take every care to make sure the products displayed in the online store are available, but on rare occasions, wines may be out of stock, due to the nature of wine being subject to limited production capacity. If for any reason beyond our control we are unable to supply a particular wine, be it a specific vintage or otherwise, there are the following options available:
Whilst we strive to ensure that all wines sold are of the highest quality, we cannot refund or exchange wines that were not to your personal preference. Please contact us directly if you require advice prior to making a wine selection.
Breakages do sadly occur, although (touch wood) we've had no more than 3 instances in ten years of operating.
All breakages in transit are covered for replacement.
Wines must be returned in their original packaging with labels, foils, corks or screw-caps intact and unopened (by law, we must check for evidence of the use of wine preservation systems). Only full, whole cases may be returned, and at your cost.
Once we receive the wines and confirm that they have not been damaged or opened, you will be refunded for the cost of the wine – any delivery charges, duties or taxes will not be refunded - and a 10% administration fee will be deducted from the refund.
You must notify us of your intention to return within 7 days of delivery of the wines, and all products must be returned within 28 days of delivery.
please note: The South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 does not obligate retailers to offer a refund if an identical product has been found elsewhere at a lower price, nor if the consumer has a change of heart regarding their purchase.
If you have ordered and paid for wine and chose to cancel the order prior to delivery, there will be a 10% administration fee deducted from the refund.
PLEASE NOTE:
for security reasons, no refund will be made until the original payment has reflected in our bank account.
Because we use a third party secure payment gateway, payments may take up to 3 (three) working days to reflect in our account.
All refunds will be to your bank account. For this, we will require your bank payment details.
PLEASE NOTE: if a payment is to be made to an overseas account (i.e. not in South Africa), a bank transfer fee of ZAR200 will be deducted from the refund,
Alternatively, we will happily offer you a credit note against your next purchase. Refunds will only be made once we receive the wines as per the returns policy above.
